Survival of the Fittest - The Men
This month's variety show at the House of Yes centered around the theme of evolution, so it was only fitting that it was hosted by Charles Darwin.
Less obvious to the British scientists in the audience (there may only have been one), was the participation of Flava Flav, but then again, the evolution section of the Biology GRE was my weakest...
One of my favourite acts from the show was performed by Rob Roth as his "shadow-self" Craig, a haunting and spell-binding solo of a wolf-creature.
As usual, all of my photographs were taken as unobtrusively as possible from the audience without flash, and this time due to a different stage configuration I was able to take pictures from up close (/noses) and personal. I'm pretty sure that's a magician's worst nightmare, but it made for some dramatic shots of The Great Dubini.
And also of an ankle hanging, stripped down Albert Cadabera...
Confession time - there were a couple of acts this show that had me cowering in my seat. The first because I really was afraid of getting hurt (no pictures of that one, because a) she's a lady and b) I was too busy covering my eyes for fear of losing one to a rebounding arrow... not one of the best thought-out acts I've ever seen). And the second because this guy was blowing fireballs over my head.
More pictures of the "fittest" ladies to follow.
